Sometimes I find it hard to express myself in English and people misunderstand me.
*Sometimes I find it hard to express myself in English and people misunderstand me.
To express yourself means say your thoughts or feelings using words. However sometimes you know what you want to say in Japanese but when you say it in English it may sound like a different thing.
*Sometimes I find it hard to express myself in English and people misunderstand me.
たまに、英語で表現することが難しくて、誤解されることがあります。
express yourselfとは、自分の考えや感情を言葉で表現するという意味です。しかし、時には日本語では伝えられるのに、英語だとうまくいかないことがありますよね。
I am not fluent in English, I get things muddled up ...and people don't get what I mean!
We are either fluent or we are not...It is quite easy to get into a bit of a muddle...
when we "get stuck" trying to communicate an idea...Its not a problem
Just explain with some well chosen words:
I am not fluent in English, I get things muddled up and people don't get what I mean!
流暢に話せるとしてもそうでないとしても、混乱する時は誰にでもあります。 考えを言おうとして "get stuck" (言葉に詰まってしまった) としても問題ありません。 ただよく選ばれた言葉で説明すれば良いのです。:
"I am not fluent in English, I get things muddled up and people don't get what I mean!"
(英語が流暢に話せなくて、言いたいことが言えません。)
It's hard for me to express myself properly in English.
Native speakers will say like this: “It's hard for me to express myself properly in English”.
There are lots of other ways to say it, but this one is the most accurate and most commonly used.
Here is an example on how to use this in a conversation:
A: Your English is quite good!
B: Thanks. But it's hard for me to express myself properly sometimes.
ネイティブスピーカーは次のように言います。
“It's hard for me to express myself properly in English”
(自分の気持ちを英語で正しく表すのは難しいです)
他にもいろいろな言い方ができますが、これが最も正確で一般的です。
以下、会話例です。
A: Your English is quite good! (あなた英語上手ですね!)
B: Thanks. But it's hard for me to express myself properly sometimes. (ありがとう。でも、自分の気持ちを正しく表すのが難しいときもあります。)
Sometimes i find it hard to explain myself, and i'm misunderstood
Sometimes i struggle to express what i mean and people misunderstand me
My English is not fluent so sometimes i'm not very well understood
If you struggle with something it also means you find it hard to do
to express yourself means to explain what you mean/are talking about
If you are not fluent in English it means its not your first language and your not as good as you could be so maybe don't explain yourself right and people don't understand all the time
Sometimes I struggle to explain myself in English and it's misunderstood
When starting to acquire a new language, you are continuously learning new vocabulary, expressions and grammar. When you attempt to say something in exactly the way you want, you find there is always some verb or specific vocabulary missing - so you use an alternative verb or word which may not be exactly correct. Sometimes it works and sometimes you are misunderstood.
Sometimes people get the wrong idea because I can't say what I want to say in English.
I can't always say what I want to say so sometimes people confuse what I am saying.
The two sentences you see provided above are terrific ways to express to your listener that you can't say everything you want to say in English, which means people may misunderstand what you are trying to say. In the first sentence you will see the term get the wrong idea and in the second sentence you will see the word confuse. They both mean to misunderstand.
上記2つの例文は、英語では思うように言えないことがあるので誤解されることがあると伝える素晴らしい言い方です。
1文目では「get the wrong idea」、2文目では「confuse」という単語に気づくでしょう。これらはどちらも「誤解する」という意味です。
At times, I cannot speak certain thoughts correctly in English, so people often misunderstand me.
There are times when I cannot express myself clearly in English, and it causes me to be misunderstood.
Sometimes, you need to speak longer, more complex sentences in order to say what you mean.
1) "At times, I cannot speak certain thoughts correctly in English, so people often misunderstand me."
- 'At times' is another way to say 'sometimes'. This sentence tells exactly what you are referring to (certain thoughts) and why people misunderstand you (cannot speak certain thoughts clearly).
2) "There are times when I cannot express myself clearly in English, and it causes me to be misunderstood."
- 'There are times when...' is an expression that simply means 'sometimes' or 'at times'. Here, you state that you become misunderstood (adjective) because you're not able to express thoughts in English.
時には、長く複雑な文章でないと言いたいことが表せないこともあります。
1) "At times, I cannot speak certain thoughts correctly in English, so people often misunderstand me."(英語で自分の思っていることがうまく伝えられないことがあって、よく誤解されます)
- 'at times'は'sometimes'(時々)と同じ意味です。この文では、具体的に何が伝えられないのか(= certain thoughts)、そしてどうして誤解されるのか(= cannot speak certain thoughts clearly)を伝えています。
2) "There are times when I cannot express myself clearly in English, and it causes me to be misunderstood."
(自分の思っていることがうまく伝わらず誤解されることがあります)
- 'There are times when...'は「時々」という意味です。ここでは、思っていることが伝わらず誤解されると伝えています。
