Sample dialogue Taxi Driver: Good morning, where are we headed ma'am/sir? You: Please drop me off at Tokyo Station. Thank you. or Taxi Driver: Good morning, where is your destination? You: Kindly take to Ueno Park, please. Thank you. Using 'destination' is formal. For casual English, it's best to use the ones in the sample dialogue above.
Good morning, where are we headed ma'am/sir? Please drop me off at Tokyo Station. Thank you. Good morning, where is your destination? Kindly take to Ueno Park, please. Thank you.

This would be called your destination. For example a taxi driver could ask you "what is your destination?" You could ask "Please take me to (place you want to go)" as this would be more commonly said than "(place you want to go) is my destination".
"What is your destination?" "Please take me to (place you want to go)" ((場所の名前)へお願いします) 次の表現より一般的に使われます。 "(place you want to go) is my destination".

You may wish to go home, to the cinema or to the bus station. When you get in the taxi, you must clearly state your destination to the driver. "Please take me to Trafalgar Square."

Destination is a place you want to go to. "My destination is (Name of place)" This explains to the driver where you would like to go. "(Name of place) Please" This politely give the driver the name of the place they want to go to. "Please take me to (name of a place)." This is another polite way of asking a driver to take you somewhere.

  • Generally you wouldnt say this is my destination, you would say I am going to...... and refer to the location specifically. For example, I am going to the football stadium, I am going to 123 smith street.

We rarely generate sentence structure in English like my destination is, instead we would say I am going to.

Drop me off at - This will tell your driver exactly where you are going. It is a phrasal verb. "Drop me off at the train station please." I'm going to this destination - This come across as a bit unnatural, however if you point on a map where it is it becomes natural. "Can you drop me off at this location, please (pointing). I'm going to this place - It is a direct order. As with all of the above normally the driver will ask eg. "Where are you going?" - "I'm going to the mall."
Drop me off at - 目的地の正確な場所を伝える言い方です。 "Drop me off at the train station please." I'm going to this place - ストレートな指示ですね。 - "I'm going to the mall."

"Life is a journey, not a destination."
