When we talk about a child that is younger than 1 year old, we refer to their age in months. We say they are 1 month old when they have lived for 4 weeks. For every month after that we refer to their age by the month number, up to 1 year old.
My child is 1 month old.

There are a number of ways to talk about your child's age. If they are only a few months, you will say the exact number of months (and sometimes weeks) since their birth. Another way is to state what they are not one yet. For example, you can say "my baby is not one yet, but she will be in July". This tells the person that they are below the age of one. When a baby is between the age of 0 -1years, we count their age in weeks or months. For example you could say either: He is 36 weeks old OR he is 8 months old.

If the child has not been alive for 12 months yet, we describe their age in months, weeks or days. After 12 months you may say: "The baby is a year old now."
