If a doctor has told us to do something, we often say 'doctor's orders', as a kind of joke, quite casual or just to make the situation light hearted.
"I heard you've quit smoking?"
"Yup, doctor's orders".
「tell someone to do」は「(人)に~しなさいと言う」
The doctor advised me to stop smoking
My doctor told me not to drink
My doctor told me not to run

When you are told to do or not to do something by a doctor or medical professional then we have a phrase 'doctor's orders' this means they have told you to help your health
We can also call this 'medical advice' as they are advising you and are a medical professional
The doctor advised me to stop (smoking/drinking/exercising)
The doctor said I should stop (smoking/drinking/exercising)
"The doctor advised me to stop (smoking/drinking/exercising)": To advise someone to do something means that you would warn them against something.
"The doctor said I should stop (smoking/drinking/exercising)": This would be a straight instruction for them doctor.
"The doctor advised me to stop (smoking/drinking/exercising)":
"The doctor said I should stop (smoking/drinking/exercising)"
EX. "The teacher demanded James stop playing with his mobile phone."
If you are 'under doctor's orders', then you are following the doctor's instructions in order to overcome a physical or mental imperfection.
例
"The teacher demanded James stop playing with his mobile phone."
The doctor told me to stop eating red meat (like beef)
The key word here would be "quit" and "stop".
You can say something like: "the doctor told me to stop eating beef because of my cholesterol." or "the doctor told me to stop smoking cigarettes because they are not good for my heart".
Remember it would also usually be important to state the reason you were told to stop/quit something. However, you can say "for health reasons"if you don't want to give away the exact reason because it's too personal.
"the doctor told me to stop eating beef because of my cholesterol."(コレステロールのため、医者は肉を食べることをやめるように言いました。)
"the doctor told me to stop smoking cigarettes because they are not good for my heart."(タバコは心臓によくないので、医者はタバコを吸うのをやめるように言いました。)
My doctor has recommended that I quit smoking due to the fact that it is negatively impacted my life.
For a better quality of life my doctor has suggested that I give up the habit of smoking.
