掃除の時に物をどけたら、動かした物は元の位置（元の状態）に戻して欲しいと伝えたいのですが。

元の位置をどのように言うか迷いますね。
部屋を掃除しているときに家具や小物等を動かした場合のことを想定すると、its original place は、少し大げさな感じがします。
物があった元の位置➡それがあったところ＝where it was で表すのはどうでしょうか。
または、「決まった位置」ということで、 a fixed place または、「適切な場所」としてproper place と訳すのはどうでしょうか。
