I am in ○○ department. という言い方ができると思います。
例：
I am in the sales department.

また be part of を使って、
I am part of ○○ department. でも伝わります。
[部活動](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/66672/)のチームであれば belong to をよく用いますが、会社の部署に所属しているという表現にも使うことができるので、
I belong to ○○ department. とも言えるでしょう。

医学部に所属しています。
訳語通りbelong toを使うのはあまりよくないと思います。ネイティブ的に間違っています。belongは、人について使ったら、ちょっと詩的なニュアンスです。we belong together, you belong with meなどというタイトルの曲がたくさんあります。
