  • This tastes exactly like the medicine I was given as a child.

  • This drink tastes the same as the medicine I had when I was little.

The sense of taste is one of the strongest memory triggers in the human brain, and we can often be reminded of certain periods in our lives when tasting something that we have not tasted in a long time. Both of these answers explain to someone that the drink/food you have just eaten reminds you of a medicine you had during your childhood.

If you recall a past experience or memory which is triggered by something, then you can state that "This reminds me of that." "You remind me of my father when he used to play poker every evening."
何かによって過去の経験や記憶を思い出した時、「This reminds me of that.」 You remind me of my father when he used to play poker every evening.

  • This tastes similar to a medicine that I took when I was younger.

The word "similar" means "like." "Younger" is another way to reference when you were a child. I hope that this helps :)
When I was younger" は、"When I was a child"(子どもの頃)の別の言い方です。

  • This tastes just like the medicine I used to have when I was little.

Sometimes when we taste something, it reminds use of the things we tasted when we were younger. This could happen with something sweet and it reminds us of a medicine that we had when we were little. If we want to mention about this, you can use the expression: This tastes just like the medicine I used to have when I was little.
This tastes just like the medicine I used to have when I was little.
