健康診断での胃のＸ線検査について以下のような説明をしたい。胃そのものはＸ線カメラにはほとんど写らないが、バリウム（造影剤）を飲むことによって胃の状態がカメラに写し出すことができる（胃の内壁に付着したバリウムによってX線が遮蔽されるため）。
