「美味しくなかった」は意外と言いにくいんですね、英語だと。
「Disgusting」という単語はありますが、これは過言かと思います。
僕が推奨するのは、「肉が硬すぎた」を言うと同時に、不満な顔をすることです。
したがって、「The meat was too tough :(」
また、肉が硬いと恐らくジューシーさも抜けていたと思います。
ならば「The meat was too tough and dry :(」と言えます。
(especially beef/steak). As in "I'm not going to that restaurant again! The steak was as tough as old boots!"
Like chewing leather! - This would be a really, really tough piece of meat (especially beef/steak). I've never chewed leather but I imagine that it would be unchewable. As in "What's your steak like?" "It's like chewing leather!"
(特にビーフやステーキの場合)例えば:
"I'm not going to that restaurant again! The steak was as tough as old boots!"
(二度とあのレストランには行かない。ステーキが古いブーツと同じくらい固かった。)

(ステーキが固かったから、美味しくなかった)。
〜と言えます。
やっぱり tender and juicy steak
(柔らかくて、肉汁たっぷりのステーキ)
が一番ですね!

P.S. 上の場面でよく使えそうなことばは、「tough 」「chewy 」で、「hard」とも言えます。

When steak is over-cooked it can also become quite tough. Meaning that it is hard and difficult to chew.
If you can imagine eating leather, it would not taste good and it would be quite 'tough'. Therefore we commonly use the expression, 'It was like eating leather!'.
