「中」は英語で inside と言います。Inside の代わりに in も使えるケースが多いです。
例）
電車の中

in the train
「お鍋の中にお肉を入れてください」と言いたい時に Please put the meat inside the pot と言えますが、どちらかと言えば、Please put the meat in the pot の方がナチュラルだという気がします。

"in" ←「お鍋の中」の場合、英語で"inside"と言うまでもないので、"in the pot"だけで通じます。"inside"があったらいいけど、私にとって多少不自然になります。「お鍋の中」の場合だけではなく、「電車の中」・「アパートの中」・「靴の中」なども、"in the train"・"in the apartment"・"in the shoe"にした方が普通だと思います。
"inside (of)" ←"inside the pot"と"inside of the pot"はほぼ同じ意味ですが、"of"があると、更にわかりやすくなると思います。
「お鍋の中にお肉を入れてください。」の例文：
・"Please put the meat in the pot."
・"Please put the meat inside the pot."
・"Please put the meat inside of the pot."
「中」だけなら一番合っている翻訳は"inside"だと思います。
しかし、文の中で使ったりしたら"in"だけになることが多いです。
例えば、
「お鍋の中にお肉を入れてください」は
"Please put the meat inside the pot"も言えますが、
"Please put the meat in the pot"の方がよく使われていますね。
