Rock-a-Bye Baby Hush Little Baby When You Wish Upon A Star Are You Sleeping Bonnie the Beautiful Butterfly 例: I used to sing lullabies to my children to put them to sleep.

This comes from the word 'lull' which means to 'coax gently into a state of rest or relaxed reverie.' As a noun 'lull' means 'an uneventful gap in time.'

A song that is sung to a young child or baby for them to go to sleep is called a 'lullaby' although is also sometimes called a 'cradle song' meaning that the child is in their cot (cradle) and you sing to them, this is usually sung to relax them and make them go to sleep easier

A lullaby is also called a nighttime song in some areas of the UK. It is traditionally used to sooth a baby to sleep. Both America and the UK share some common ones. However there are some that are distinctive to each country separately. When you wish upon a star is very closely related to US. And it is not sung at all in England.
'When you wish upon a star'はアメリカとの関わりが深いもので、イギリスでは全く歌われません。

Young children like to play and would rather carry on playing and learning more than go to sleep. That is why babies cry when their minds tell them it's time to sleep. However, there are two things a parent can do to send a young child to sleep and that is either sing him/her a lalluby, also called a cradle song, or read a bed time story to him/her. The lullaby or cradle song is usually soothing and slowly sends the child to sleep. Bed time stories do have a similar effect because they can be long and boring to the child, thereby sending him/her to sleep. So, you may say to a child that is struggling to sleep: I will sing you a lullaby my baby. or Listen to this cradle song my darling.
"I will sing you a lullaby my baby." "Listen to this cradle song my darling."

Children often struggle to sleep with ease. We can help them fall asleep by singing them a lullaby. This helps the child to relax and ease into sleep. There are many different lullabies one can sing, you can even make it up as you go, so long as it is a soothing, gentle song.

If you are trying to explain a quiet/gentle song to send a child to sleep, you can call it a "lullaby" or a "bedtime song". If you would like to use this in a sentence you can say "She sang a lullaby to the baby as she fell asleep.".
