相当するって英語でなんて言うの？

1) ~ is about the same as~

まず、「同じ」は"same"という意味ですが、「同じくらい」は"about the same"という意味ですので、

Example:
「XはYと同じくらいのZです。」
X is about the same Z as Y.

1 dollar is about the same amount (of money) as 110 yen.
1ドルは110円と同じくらいの値段です。

2) ~ is equivalent to~
equivalent は「相当する」という意味です。

１番とほぼ同じですが、２番の方は仕事等でよく使って、１番はもうちょっと通常口語です。

1 dollar is equivalent to 110 yen.
1ドルは110円に相当します。
