「[入社](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/29245/)」はjoin a companyになりますが、new college graduates usually join companies on April 1stは間違っていないことはないんですが、ちょっと不自然だと思います。joinは大体個人個人レベルで使います。[新卒](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/66/)の話だったら、start a jobの方が使われています。
例えば、
I joined the company on April 1st.
私は4月１日に入社しました。
*同僚と話す時、joined on April 1stでいいです。

始めて仕事する日というこです。
