「一週間滞在予定です」は英語に訳せば "My plan is to stay for one week” になります。
なぜかというと
一週間 = for one week
滞在 = to stay
予定 = plan

From this example, the usage of ' I'm planning ' implies that this is what you desire, however plans could always change and the example doesn't show that you will definitely stay a week but rather what you idealistically want to do.

thereを具体的な場所名で置き換えることも出来ます。
I will be staying in Singapore for a week. (シンガポールに一週間滞在予定です)
くだけた言い方だと、
I'm gonna stay there for a week.
というようにgoing toをgonnaという口語で言うこともできます。

And so it follows logically, that we might be..." gone for a week / a few days etc"

外国に旅行する際は "Go abroad " （海外に行く）という表現が使えます。
