You can use "a short time" or "briefly" for 一時.
Both phrases essentially mean the same thing, but you can change the wording of your sentence just a little bit for some variety.
You can say:
- I will return home for a short time.
- I will briefly return home.
- I will briefly be returning home for (~ amount of time).
- I plan to return home for a short while.
一時という意味で、「a short time」や「briefly」を使うことができます。

Long-term business trip の後にreturning to Japan と書いてあるので、

「Returning home temporarily」とは家に帰るときです。
しかし、ずっと滞在するわけではありません。

to head back - this means to go back to/return to the place you just came from. It can also mean to return home if you are going out for the night.
for a few days - this indicates to the listener that your stay in Japan will only be brief

B. Yeah, I'm only in Japan for a few days, but then I have to head back.
A. Oh, how long?
B. Well, I'm leaving on Wednesday.

for a few days
- これはあなたの日本での滞在が少ししかないことを伝えています。

Temporary visit to Japan - This means you are returning to Japan but not permanently.
Short visit to Japan - This is similar to above but another way of saying you will be going to Japan but only for a small amount of time.
Temporary visit to Japan(日本を一時的に訪れること)
= これは、「一時的に日本に戻る」という意味です。
Short visit to Japan(短い時間日本を訪れること)

Im on a business trip abroad but will be back soon.
I am on a short business trip overseas but will be back within a few days.

"I am on a short business trip overseas but will be back within a few days." This explains that you are out of the country for a short time but will be back in the next 3or4 days.

To 'return' often sates to go back to somewhere that you had come from, in this case the location you will go back to/return too would be japan.
'Temporarily' is the phrase used when talking about a limited period of time.
"I'll briefly return home to Japan"
In this context, 'Briefly' describes, again a short period of time, Briefly is another term used for temporarily.
"I will return to Japan temporarily"(日本に一時帰国します)
= 'return' はしばしば、元いた場所に戻ることをいいます。この場合、戻る場所というのは日本です。

I will be in Japan for X days and then back to business.
I am coming back to Japan for X days and then back to America for business.
When we get posted overseas or are away on a business trip we sometimes need to return to our home country briefly. It is possible to explain this with the above expressions. You could also say - "I will be back for a couple of days." or "I will be home for 10 days then back to the Netherlands for 6 months on business."
