"to save time"「時間を節約するため」というのを入れてもいいかもしれませんね。
例："It takes time to cook potatoes in a pan. So, to save time, I first microwave them for a few minutes." 「フライパンでじゃがいもを調理すると時間がかかるので、時間を節約するために、まず電子レンジに数分かけます」
