  • I got ripped off.

  • The bar ripped me off.

I got ripped off at a bar. I got charged more than I ordered.

  • I was overcharged.

  • I was charged too much.

「ぼったくられた」to be ripped offはよく使いますね。 to be overchargedや to be charged too muchを使って表現しました。 The price was way more than it should have been.

  • The charge was astronomical!

Daylight robbery =blatant and unfair overcharging. "Do you know how much he charges? It's daylight robbery" To rip someone off = To steal from someone or something: The thieves ripped off the unsuspecting tourist. An astronomical amount/charge = INFORMAL an astronomical amount, price, or charge is one that is extremely high and much higher than you would expect. Eg. I would have gone to the opera with you if the ticket price had not been so astronomical!"

  • Total rip off!

  • Extortionate!

  • Overcharged

We use the phrase 'rip off' or 'ripped off' to describe when we are charged too much money for something. 'Rip' is slang for 'steal'. Extortionate, the definition of which means too high in price, is also used to describe being overcharged for something. "That meal was extortionate!" "I was totally ripped off!" "What a total rip off!" "Did you see those prices? Total rip off!"
"That meal was extortionate!" "I was totally ripped off!" "What a total rip off!" "Did you see those prices? Total rip off!"

  • exorbitantly overcharged. "ripped off" ( slang )

  • The final bill was so exorbitant ... I wanted to call the police!

Getting " clipped or ripped off" are slang way to decribe "exorbitant charges!" there are unscrupulous establishments thet prey on the gullible... THey can charge 200-300 Dollars for a bottle of bad wine or fake champagne. These are common in seedier night club areas...like Soho in London. Tourists and visitors need to be vigilant and ask the prices BEFORE ordering!
The final bill was so exorbitant ... I wanted to call the police!

  • Daylight robbery!

  • Ripped off!

  • Extortionate prices!

When someone has taken more money from you than they should or something was more expensive than it seemed, there are many different phrases you could say from slang to more informal sentences. 'I just got charged £5.00 for a sandwich, that's absolute daylight robbery!' 'The taxi driver made me pay him triple fares because it was New Year's Eve - that's extortionate!' 'I just swapped my Iphone 11 for an Iphone 8 and some tickets to a concert I didn't want to watch - I've been ripped off! Another way of saying ripped off is 'mugged off'. This is very common in British slang as the term 'mug' can be used quite commonly.

You have paid way too much money for that, well, you can use one of these sentences or phrases to help you out. For example. I got totally ripped off at the shop. Yeah, why? This chocolate bar cost me double. You did get swindled. I hope that helps. Have a great day.
