洋服や物が入らない時は doesn't fit を使います。
The phone doesn't fit in my pocket （携帯がポケットに入らない）。
はみ出すは英語で stick out と言います。
The phone sticks out of my pocket (携帯がポケットからはみ出す）。
Stick out は例えば、「舌をだす」という時も stick out your tongue などと言います。
「最近のスマホは大きくて、ポケットに入りきらない、落としそう…」は：
Smartphones these days are big, and they don't fit in my pocket, I might drop it.
