There is/are は特に敬語でもスラングでもないので、「〜があります」とも「〜がございます」とも「〜があるよ」とも訳すことができます。あとは、その場の状況や言っている人のキャラクターで訳が変わってくる感じです。インフォメーションセンターでの案内やビジネスの場でも使っています。
ただ、There is/are 以外の言い方はあるので、参考までに書いておきます。
The restroom is up the stairs on the right.
お手洗いは階段を上って右側にあります（ございます）。

私にはこの問題を解決するのに最適な策があります（ございます）。
