「人のせいにする」は

ちょっと古い言い方ですが、pass the buck to someone で「〜に責任転嫁をする」という言い方もあります。

要するに、others (他人) にblameを「転嫁する」ですね。

の直訳は、
「〇〇を（誰か）の門前で置く」です。
例：The surgeon laid the mistake at the anaesthesiologist’s door.
直訳：[外科医](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/59030/)がそのミスを麻酔医の門前に置いた。
語義：外科医はそのミスを麻酔医のせいにした。
⑤pass the buck
の直訳は、「バックを回す」で、
「責任転換」の意味です。
「バック」は、トランプ用語で、ポーカーで次の親を示す印の小片の意味です。
ポーカーゲームで、その小片は人から次の人へ回されるので、その行動が転じて、
「責任転換」を表現することになりました。
例：Yamada always passes the buck when he makes a mistake at work.
山田は仕事でミスったらいつも他の人に責任を転嫁する。
