season は「季節」という意味になります。
Sometimes, the rainy season is called "green season" because of how beautiful and green the landscape gets.
You can always just call it "wet season," too. We can say that we're currently in the middle of our "wet season" in Japan now.
There is also nothing wrong with saying "tsuyu." It can be a good opportunity to share the word with someone who might not have known it. You can say something like:

雨季はgreen seasonということもあります。雨が降ると緑が映えますからね。
