「不味く感じた」の訳語は場合によりますが、1人でご飯を食べに行く話であればfelt awkwardは一番適切だと思います。
awkwardは「気まずい」みたいな意味になりますね。なんとかソーシャル的に不安があるような気持ちについてよく言います。
1人で食べたご飯はまずいは直訳的にEating alone is awkwardになりますが、
going out to eatにすると外で食べることだけの意味になります。
