an unusually hot day で「猛暑日」
for the first time in ages で「久しぶりに」

例：
We had an extremely hot day the other day for the first time in a long time.  It was almost 42 degrees Celsius. 
「先日、久しぶりに猛暑日になった。ほぼ42度だった」
42 degrees Celsius で「42℃」
