「画質が荒い」という表現を初めて聞きました。ありがとうございます！
画質の直訳は「image quality」ですが、この場合言い方がいろいろあります。
この場合の「画質」は他のカメラと違って「このカメラの写真の画質」ということですから、「The」をつけます。

Photoは、カメラの[写真](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/44671/)という意味です。
Imageは日本語の「[画像](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52720/)」に一番近いと思います。
Pictureはもともと、写真ではない何画像という意味だったのですが、現代の英語では、「写真」という意味もします。

アメリカ人にとって、「Can you take a photo of me」の方が少し硬く聞こえるので、気軽に言いたい時に「picture」がおすすめです。
カメラの写真のことですから、「 image quaity」ではなく「pictures」だけでも伝わります。
画質の件ですが、「The picture is rough」「The picture quality is bad」などと言ってもいいのですが、具体的にどういう風に「荒い」と表現することもあります。画質が細くないので、様々な四角が付いているようです。ですからアメリカ人もよく「blocky」と言います。
「block」とは、四角という意味です。

画質はimage resolutionです。[画質が高い](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/19473/)場合はhigh, 低い場合はlowやpoor（[悪い](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52877/)）と表現します。
My cell phone is old, so it only takes low resolution images. Let’s take pictures with your phone instead.

Low resolutionと言うのが長いので、短くしてlow res (ローレズ） と言う場合もあります。
Grainyはピクセル数が少ないため画質が粗くなった場合を指します。フィルム写真のビンテージ感がある粗さなら私は大好きですけどね！
When looking at a low quality image you may say,
"There are very few pixels in this image!" when complaining about the lack of clarity or lack of detail in the picture. Pixels are the small image blocks that make up a complete digital picture
You could also talk about the poor quality of the image or the low resolution of the image.
"Our wedding photos are terrible - taken with such a low resolution camera!"
画質の低い写真をみたとき、
"There are very few pixels in this image!"ということで、写真がクリアでなく詳細が見られないということを伝えることができます。ピクセルは、デジタル写真を構成する小さなブロックのことをさします。
poor qualityまたはlow resolution ともいうことができます。
例："Our wedding photos are terrible - taken with such a low resolution camera!"
The quality of this photo is bad, it is very grainy.
A grainy photo is a photo which may be a little blurred or not clear.
The pixels in the photo refer to how good the quality of the photo will be.
So if you tell someone that this photo is pixelated, it means that the images are not clear enough to the eye.
You can also say that the 'resoluton of the photo is poor' this also tells somebody that the quality is not good enough.

「"grainy" な写真」とは、少しぼやけた写真、不鮮明な写真のことです。
"pixel" は、写真の質について言う表現です。
「写真が "pixelated" だ」と言うと、その写真がぼやけているということになります。
"The resolution of the photo is poor" と言うこともできます。

MEANING= pixels- small blocks of colour that can be seen when the resolution of a picture or screen is too 'low res'
'low res' means low resolution.

This is a good way to explain that the resolution of the photo is really bad."Terrible" is an adjective used to to talk about extremities.
EX. The weather is terrible!(The weather is really bad)
The photo is a bit grainy.
This is a polite way of telling someone that the quality of the image is not good."A bit grainy" means that it is pixelated and not of the best quality.
The picture quality is terrible.
写真の質が悪い。
これは、画質が非常に悪いことを伝えるのに使える表現です。"Terrible"とは、ひどいという意味です。
例：
The weather is terrible!
天気がすごく悪い。
The photo is a bit grainy.
写真の画質が少し粗い。
これは、画像の質があまりよくないことを伝える丁寧な表現です。"A bit grainy"とは、画像が粗いという意味です。
