この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。

ーCan I talk about something that happened to me today?
「今日の私の出来事について話してもいいですか？」

ーIs it okay if I just talk about things that have happened to me today?
「今日の私の出来事について話すのでもいいですか？」
things that have happened to me today「今日私に起こったこと」
