1.) to obey (従う) 「従う」は英語でto obeyと訳せます。「従う」は英語でto listen toとも訳せますが、to listen toは「聴く」という意味もありますので、ややこしくなります。To obeyはto listen toより固い言い方ですが、一番わかりやすいの言い方です。
例えば、
I will obey the boss. (上司に従う)
I will listen to the boss. (上司に従う)
「従う」は英語で 'to obey' または 'to follow' と言います。
本来の意味からみて 'to obey' が一番意味が近いです。
