舞台を観に行くって英語でなんて言うの？

舞台＝stage
ですが、「舞台を観に行く」は「Go watch a stage」ではなく「Go watch a play」と言います。

舞台は舞台でも色々な種類があるのでその都度musicalやconsertと何を観に行くのかはっきり伝える事が多いです。

Yesterday I watched a play starring my favorite actor＝昨日は一番好きな俳優が主演している芝居を観に行った

I am going to go watch a play tomorrow＝明日は舞台を観に行きます。

日本語では「舞台」でも英語では「演劇（play）」を見に行くという文になります。そこで、

　I went to watch a play.

です。
これに場所の名前（〜 theater）とか、いつ（yesterday など）を続けることになります。

なお、「舞台を見に行きました」は、I went to a play. というさらに簡単な言い方もできます。

「舞台（演劇）」は英語で「play」になりますが、他の言い方も使われています。

例えば、
「a performance of （例えば）Romeo and Juliet」
「see a production of Romeo and Juliet」
「see a stage production of Romeo and Juliet」

「昨日舞台を観に行きました」＝ I went to see a play at the theatre yesterday. / I went to the theatre yesterday to see a performance of Romeo and Juliet. / I saw a stage production of Romeo and Juliet yesterday.

1. I went to see his(her) performance in a theater (on a stage) yesterday.
   私は昨日、彼(彼女）の舞台を観に行きました。
   好きな役者さんが舞台にいる場合は、通常 "his(her) performance" を入れます。

2. I went to see a theater play yesterday.
   私は昨日舞台を観に行きました。　
   特定の誰かがいないときは、このように言います。"theater play"が舞台です。

1)舞台を観るは watch a stage performance です。
もし舞台で上演されているのがお芝居であれば、 watch a play と言えます。

2)a theater は劇場です。このように簡素に言うこともできます。
「昨日舞台を観に行きました」と過去形で言うなら、
I went to the theater yesterday to watch the performance. となります。

シンプルですが上記のように英語で表現することができます。
see a play で「舞台を観る」を表すことができます。

例：
I went to see a play yesterday. It was amazing.
昨日舞台を観に行きました。素晴らしかったです。
