いくらって英語でなんて言うの？

価格を尋ねる表現は 　How much is/are 〜? 　How much does/do 〜 cost? などがあります。 「その靴はいくらですか？」の場合、「靴（一足）」は a pair of shoes ですが、「その靴」と特定しているので the にして 　How much is the pair of shoes? となります。

「いくら」厳密に言うと how many になります。金額の場合 How much is it? や How much does it cost? などと言えます。 例） この靴はいくら？ How much do these shoes cost? How much are these shoes? ご参考になれば幸いです。

「いくら」は英語で「how much?」といいます。「その靴はいくらですか？」は英語で「How much are those shoes？」といいます。 How much is this skirt? （このスカートはいくらですか？） How much is the picture hanging above the shelf? （あの棚の上に掛けてある絵はいくらですか？） Can you ask the sales assistant how much this T-shirt is? （このTシャツはいくらなのか、あの店員さんに聞いてくれますか？）

「いくら」という言葉を英語で伝えると、「how much」になります。値段を訪ねるとき、買いたい物が一つしかない場合に、「How much is this?」も「How much does this cost?」も言っても良いです。買いたい物が二つ以上場合に、「How much are these?」も「How much do these cost?」も言っても良いです。例えば、「How much is this jacket?」と「How much do these shoes cost?」と言っても良いと考えました。「Jacket」は「ジャケット」という意味があって、「shoes」は「靴」という意味があります。

値段を聞くとき、「いくら」の意味は"How much?"です。 例： How much is this dress? (このドレスはいくらですか？） ちなみに、"How much does __ cost?"も同じ意味（__ はいくらですか？）、"cost"が加えると、直訳は「__ はいくらぐらいかかりますか？） "How much does __ cost?"は文法的に、間違えがありませんが、"cost"を抜いて、”How much...?"だけで十分です。 時々、「いくら」は"how many?" (いくつ？）の意味もあります。
