"Spring break" is ok to use under any circumstances, but here in the US "spring break" is especially associated with university students. It is the time when university students, often from cold climates, drive down to Florida and party all week. Usually a car has many people and they drive day and night. Every year new videos appear of students behaving badly, taking off their clothes, throwing up, etc., during spring break in Florida. "Easter break" was used in the past when holidays were more connected to the religious holiday, but now may only be used if you are studying at a Christian school/university.
