not needed/necessaryで[必要](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/32984/)ではない、つまり不要であることを伝えられます。

人を主語にする場合は単純に、I don't need it.（それは不要です）と言うことも自然です。
necessaryのほうがneedよりも硬い印象です。
もし、何かシンプルに必要ない、と言った場合には、”I don't want to have..”. でも要らないを伝えることも可能です。
例えば、I don't want to have a coffee. といえば、コーヒーは[いらない](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/47818/)。といった感じです。
ここで I don't need a coffee. というと、非常に強い表現になってしまいますので、注意してくださいね。
That's not necessary.
→それは必要ありません（不要）。
There's no need to panic.
→慌てる必要はありません（不要）。
There's no need to apologize.
→謝る必要ありません（不要）。
I don't need a boyfriend.
→ボーイフレンドは必要ありません（不要）。

「不要」の言い方はいろいろあります。
「need」は「必要」という意味の名詞です。
「necessary」は「必要な」という意味の形容詞です。
これらを否定することで「不要」を表せます。
