天気が悪いって英語でなんて言うの？

There are a number of ways to express that the weather is bad. It is also important to note that the extent to which it is bad can be expressed in a number of ways. It may vary from "bad", "very bad"or "terrible". So it is really about choosing the right adjective.

"The weather was awful this week." "Awful" - this word is stronger in meaning than Bad! You could say this if the weather was rainy, hot and humid, or really windy! "It rained during my whole vacation!" "During " meaning for the entire time or every day. "whole" this is adding additional emphasis that it was for the entire trip. You could also say: "It rained every day during my vacation."

When the weather is bad, such as when it keeps on raining heavily, you may not enjoy your vacation because you can not go out there and visit some places of interest. When you are on vacation, you would like to have as much fun as possible and a direct view to the ocean can add some fun. So, you may say: The weather was very bad during my vacation, it was raining heavily the whole week. or I didn't enjoy my vacation because it rained the whole week.

"It rained cats and dogs all week" - The expression 'raining cats and dogs' is an old English expression to explain that it has been raining a lot (pouring). It supposedly comes from a time when cats and dogs would try to stay warm and dry by hiding in the straw roofs of English cottages and when it rained they would often times fall out of the roof. - Hence the saying!! "The weather was awful this entire week" - It rained constantly for the whole week. You could explain that your vacation/holiday was ruined because of the weather. This usually is the fault of rain or storms.

When describe bad weather you can use adjectives like: "bad, terrible, stormy, rainy weather". These words can show a negative feeling about the weather.

There are many ways of describing how bad or even how good something is in the English language, but natives normally refer to these two most common phrases when describing that the weather is really bad. "The Weather was awful" is referring to Past tense 'was' "The Weather is so bad!" is referring to present tense 'is'

"Horrible weather" This is a very popular expression in the U.S. when it comes to express your inner feelings of bad weather because it ruined your vacation, outing etc. When using this expression you are letting the other person know that you are not happy of this weather and it ruined your plans. "Gloomy wather" This expression is less popular but describes bad weather really good. In this expression you are describing bad weather in general, sepcially when its dark and cloudy and you just want to stay home and sleep!
