One ~ is missing. で「〜が１つ足らない」「〜が一つない」という言い方です。

2) I can't find one of my earrings.
「イヤリングが片方見つからない。」
２つあるうちの１つが見つからない場合は、I can't find one of ~. を使っても言うことができます。
I can't find one of my mittens.
「手袋の片方が見つからない。」
