執着って英語でなんて言うの？

"attachment" ←（名詞）これは「絆」に近くて、好意的な意味です。「～に執着する」の英語パターンは"to have an attachment to ~"・"to be attached to ~"になります。 "fixation" ←（名詞）これは悪い意味で「一つの事柄に集中しすぎる」のことです。「～に執着する」の英語パターンは"to have a fixation on ~"・"to be fixated on ~"になります。 "obsession" ←（名詞）これも悪い意味で「一つの事柄に集中しすぎる」のことです。「～に執着する」の英語パターンは"to have a obsession with ~"・"to be obsessed with ~"になります。 「彼は彼女に執着している。」の例文： ・"He has an attachment to her."（可愛くて愛しい印象です。） ・"He is attached to her."（可愛くて愛しい印象です。） ・"He has a fixation on her."（ダサくて可哀想な印象です。） ・"He is fixated on her."（ダサくて可哀想な印象です。） ・"He has an obsession with her."（ダサくて怖い印象です。） ・"He is obsessed with her."（ダサくて怖い印象です。）

信仰、目標や考えなどへの執着の場合に、"hold fast to ~"が言えます。その考え方がどうしても変わらないという意味です。ニュアンスがネガティブかポジティブ、文脈によってどちらにできます。 たとえば、 "Even if nothing else, you can at least admire the fact that they hold fast to their beliefs." 他は別として、信仰への執着が強くて、それだけ尊敬できるでしょう。 人や物への執着は思いに言い換えれば、この表現がその場合にも使えます。 たとえば、 "He's holding fast to the idea that she's the one." 彼は彼女への執着が止まらない。

名詞ならばobsessionでいいと思います。 動詞の「執着する」になるとbe obsessed「心が何かに囚われる」という意味で受け身で使われることが多いです。obsessという言葉自体は「(恐怖などが)取り付いて離れない」「取り付いて人を悩ませる」という意味になります。 He has an obsession with video games. 彼はテレビゲームに執着している（依存症という感じ） I am obsessed with her. 彼女のことで頭がいっぱいです。 This problem obsessed me for years. この問題はもう何年も私を悩ませている。

I attach myself to things that have meaning. 意味を持つものに執着します。 I have no attachment whatsoever to my current job. 私は今の仕事に何ら執着していない。 This has personal attachment for me. このものは個人的な愛着があります。 他の意味 (fetish - 呪物 安堵）(obsession - 取りつくこと) がありますが、 "attach"が最も近い意味だと思いますね！
