日本語の文法だと「傘を横に持って振りながら歩く」は形容詞として使えますね。
英語でより、「〇〇人」じゃなく、「people who 〇〇」という形になりますね。
＊walk with their umbrella swinging by their sideの代わりにswing their umbrellas by their side while they walkという順番もOKです。
この場合はI hate the way people~じゃなく、I hate when people~と言います。
