How about 〜？ は提案する時に使える便利なフレーズです。「〜ってのはどう？」という意味です。
behave は正確には「立ち振る舞う」「振る舞う」ですが、子供に対してもよく使われます。
Behave yourself! 「お行儀よくしなさい！」
She is so well-behaved! 「彼女、すごくお利口さんね！」

こちらの方が提案というより誘っているので、乗り気なのが伝わると思います。
mess it up もよく子供を育てていると使う表現です。「めちゃくちゃにする」という意味です。
