Oh geez で「うわ〜参った」のような意味です。
catch up で「追いつく」catch up to someone で「人に追いつく」と言えます。

「やばい、友達のスコアと自分のがほとんど同じだ。」
... is almost the same as ~ で「…が〜とほとんど同じ」
追いつかれそうになるということは、スコアがほぼ同じになるとも言えると思います。
