この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。

ーThey haven't finished it yet, have they?
「まだ（工事が）終わってないね」
ーThey're still working on it.
「まだ工事中だね」

ーWe can play there soon.
「もうすぐ（公園で）遊べるね」

お子さんに楽しみだねと言うなら、次のような言い方が良いでしょう。
ーWe'll have fun.
ーIt'll be fun.
