  • The weather is clearing up now.

  • It looks like the rain has worn itself out.

  • The rain is finally starting to fizzle out.

"The weather is clearing up now." clearing up = The rain is stopping ;the weather is becoming brighter eg."I said I would fix the roof when the weather clears up" "It looks like the rain has worn itself out." In this sentence you are personifying rain by giving it the ability to be exhausted. This isa good way to say it is stopping. "The rain is finally starting to fizzle out." fizzle out = to become weaker when it is about to end.
"The weather is clearing up now." I said I would fix the roof when the weather clears up" 天気が良くなってきたら、屋根の修理をすると言ったよね。 "It looks like the rain has worn itself out." "The rain is finally starting to fizzle out."

  • At last... the rain is stopping...

  • After a wet and gloomy grey day....at last the rain is stopping.

Rain starts and rain stops...its not complex. So in this case we need a clear short sentence that say it al:-D "After a wet and gloomy grey day....at last the rain is stopping."
例文: "After a wet and gloomy grey day....at last the rain is stopping."

  • The rain is letting up.

let up: a lessening of effort, activity, or intensity (Merriam-Webster Dictionary) つまりlet upは、勢いが弱まるという意味になります。 As the exam period is approaching, I cannot let up now.

  • The rain finally started to die down.

  • It finally stopped raining.

For "rain to die down" it means that it stopped raining heavily, but the weather isn't very good still. You can use this if the rain is still light but not inconvenient.

  • The rain is finally petering out

  • It's finally stopping

To peter out =verb (used without object), peter out - to diminish gradually and stop; dwindle to nothing: "The hot water always peters out in the middle of my shower." Alternatively you may just explain that something is stopping or coming to a halt. "The train is stopping now." "The verbal abuse is stopping."
To peter out =動詞:やむ。 "The hot water always peters out in the middle of my shower." "The train is stopping now." "The verbal abuse is stopping."
