[予定](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/51759/)と予定の間に[空いてしまった時間](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/75454/)をさす表現として"pocket of time"があります。Pocketは服についているポケットと同じ言葉ですが、この場合は独立した[空間](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52170/)などを意味します。
If I make use of small pockets of time, I can get a lot of work done.
「小さなすきま時間を活用したら、多くの仕事をやり遂げることができる。」
上記表現のうち、hiatusが、[隙間](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/42618/)時間に一番近い直訳です。
I study English during my hiatus. あるいは、I study English between whiles.
「free」の基本義は「（外部から）束縛されていない、自由な」です。
一方「spare」は、古英語「sparian（倹約する）」を語源とし、「使わずにとっておく（分の）」という基本義を有しています。
以下、例文です。

I would like to make good use of my spare time by studying English.→スキマ時間を有効に活用し英語学習に取り組みたい。
He goes to an English conversation school in his spare time.→彼は仕事の合間を見て英会話学校に通っている。
この場合、「moment」は「数えられる名詞」として、「time」は「数えられない名詞」として用いられます。
「数えられる名詞」と「数えられない名詞」の違いは、その名の通り、数えることができるかどうかです。
ものを数えるには、その「切れ目」が明確でなければなりません。
例えば、I like coffee.（コーヒーが好きです。）の「coffee」は数えられませんが、I'd like a coffee, please.（コーヒーを一杯いただけますか。）と「一杯」を指すときには、「coffee」は数えられます。
「spare moment」、「free moment」は、具体的な一つ一つの「スキマ時間」を指していて、その「切れ目」は明確です。
一方、「spare time」には、具体性はなく、「スキマ時間」の条件を満たした時間を漠然と指しています。
「移動時間」は英語で「travel time」です。
以下、例文です。
If you drive, you can do virtually nothing but drive, but if you take a form of public transport you can make use of that travel time.（South Wales Evening Postの記事から）→車を運転すれば、運転以外にはほとんど何もできませんが、公共の交通機関を利用すれば、移動時間を活用できます。
「待ち時間」を英語にすると、「waiting time」となります。
At present there is a waiting time of two hours.→ただ今の待ち時間は2時間です。
また、
At present there is a wait of two hours.→ただいまの待ち時間は2時間です。
How long is the wait?→待ち時間はどのくらいですか。
How long do I have to wait?→待ち時間はどのくらいですか。
上記のような言い方もございます。
