  • Don't suppress your emotions.

  • Don't keep your feelings bottled up inside.

"Don't suppress your emotions." "Suppress" This word carries with it the idea of holding something inside of you. It is not wise to keep your emotions always inside, they need to be let out. Similar to this is..... "Don't keep your feelings bottled up inside." "Bottled up" To hold something inside you that is bothering you. Keeping your feelings inside can cause anger and deeper emotions that may end up hurting you.
例文 "Don't suppress your emotions." 例文 "Don't keep your feelings bottled up inside."

  • "Wear your heart on your sleeve"

  • "Get it out of your system" OR "Let it all out"

  • "Pour your heart out"

To "wear your heart on your sleeve" is to be open with your emotions and express your feelings to others. It can also be used to describe someone that is really kind and sometimes gets hurt because of this. However, to 'wear your heart on your sleeve' is viewed as a good thing in British society. It describes someone that is kind and honest. People that wear their heart on their sleeve are considered sweet and trustworthy. "Get it out of your system" or "Let it all out" are said to people that 'bottle-up' their feelings, meaning, they don't talk about their emotions and what they feel, and they need to. We also use it when someone that has been holding in their emotions begins to open up and talk about them, or when they begin to cry. We would offer them a smile and a concerned look, and possibly rub their back slowly whilst saying something like: "Let it all out, it's good to cry, go on and get it out of your system." To "pour your heart out" is the same as to "let it all out", but it isn't always associated with tears and crying. It can just mean to open up and talk about your emotions. It is especially apt for describing talking about something that has been kept hidden for a while and that makes the person feel upset when they think about it.
"wear your heart on your sleeve"とは、人に感情を素直に表現するという意味です。 しかし、'wear your heart on your sleeve'は、イギリス社会ではとてもいいこととされています。 "Get it out of your system" または"Let it all out" は、感情を抑える人に対して使うフレーズです。 "Get it out of your system" または"Let it all out"は、誰かが感情を押し込めていて心を開き始めたときや、泣き始めたときに使います。 笑顔や心配している様子を伝えたり、 "Let it all out, it's good to cry, go on and get it out of your system."「全て吐き出して。 "pour your heart out" は、"let it all out"と同じ意味ですが、泣くことに必ずしも関係しているとは限りません。

  • You should freely express how you feel.

  • Don't be shy to express your feelings.

  • You mustn't hide your feelings.

*You should freely express how you feel. - Some people find it hard to express how they feel and others don't. Those who freely express their feelings people often say they are emotional people. Example Sentences: Friend, I can't tell what's in your heart unless you express yourself. It's so easy to tell if Jane is happy, it will be written all over her face. *Don't be shy to express your feelings/You mustn't hide your feelings.- being shy can lead to hiding things like your emotions.
例文 *You should freely express how you feel. Friend, I can't tell what's in your heart unless you express yourself. It's so easy to tell if Jane is happy, it will be written all over her face. You mustn't hide your feelings.

  • You shouldn't bottle up your emotions.

  • You should vent your emotions.

The two sentences you see provided above are great ways to express to your listener that you do not think it is a good idea to suppress your emotions. In the first sentence you will notice the term bottle up. This term means to suppress something, normally our feelings or emotions. In the second sentence you will see the word vent. Although this word has different meanings, in this sentence it means to express your feelings without interruption from another person.

  • 1. Don't keep it all inside

  • 2. Let it all out

  • 3. We should all express how we feel when we want to

Explanation: Depending on the context, you may ssy something appropriate. For example, at a wedding or a funeral, sentence 1 or 2 may suit the occasion if someone is suppressing their emotions. 3 is a more detailed explanation. Example sentence: "At the funeral I broke down and let it all out."
例文: "At the funeral I broke down and let it all out."

  • Don't keep your emotions 'bottled up'

  • Express yourself

  • Don't suppress your emotions

It is very important that when you feel strongly about something and your emotions are high that you express yourself clearly and tell people how you are feeling. If you let your feelings build up for an amount of time suppressing them, and keeping them 'bottled up' (keeping them to yourself) when they eventually come out (they always do) it may not be in the correct way and you will find it harder to fix whatever problem is building your emotions so high.
to bottle up =(感情を)抑える
