Are you feeling any better? I heard you caught a cold.
I heard that you were ill. Are you OK now?
In this first sentence, you're starting off by asking the person how they are feeling. Asking this question first may give the impression that you are sincere and truly interested in their wellbeing after hearing that they have been sick with a cold. They can either respond with a 'yes' or 'no' answer. It is also possible that they can give a more elaborate answer, depending on your relationship with the person.
In the second sentence, you begin by stating a fact and then asking whether the person is feeling OK. This also shows interest in the person to whom you are speaking.
"I heard you were sick. Are you feeling better?"
You begin by saying you heard the person (your co-worker, friend, family member, etc.) was sick and then ask them how they are feeling.
