To 'bite the bullet' is to decide to do something difficult or unpleasant that one has been putting off or hesitating over. Some couples take a long time to finally get married and this would be a humorous comment. "you two look great together!" is a very positive comment. Congratulations! You finally wed after your one year engagement!
The first one: 'Congratulations on your getting married' is very formal and is most likely to be used often.
The second one: Congratulations! 'You finally got hitched' is informal and can also be used in a jocular way. It can be used mainly to a close friend who had been engaged for some time.
The third one: Congratulations! 'You finally wed after your one year engagement' is formal and can be used to someone you know has been engaged for that period. However, this person may not be
a close friend.
