父親って英語でなんて言うの?

日本語だと「パパ」「お父さん」「父親」のように場面(家での呼び方、外での呼び方など)によって呼びわけがあります。フォーマルな「父親」の言い方が知りたいです。

father が父親のフォーマルな言い方だと思います。 My father taught me so many valuable lessons as a young child. 「子供の頃父はたくさんの貴重な教訓を教えてくれた。」 Dad「お父さん」Daddy, Papa, Dada 「小さい子供が使う言い方」などもあります。 関連する言葉で paternal とmaternal という言葉もあります。 paternal は「父の・父方の」 maternal は「母の・母方の」という意味です。 He is my paternal grandfather. = He is my grandfather on my father's side. 「彼は父方の祖父です。」 ご参考になれば幸いです!

  • Father ...(Pater...Latin derivation)

  • I respect my father for all the hard work he has done providing for our family!

"Our Father" is the salutation given to god in the Catholic faith. And is the start of "The Lord's Prayer." To most others, it is the correct way to address ones (male parent), or the head of the household. Some very posh people in England still use the old term from LATIN "Pater" when they address their fathers... although this is seen as VERY formal indeed;-)

  • How are you dad?

  • I love my daddy.

  • Please meet my father.

'Daddy' is the vocabulary used by younger children in British English to refer to a male parent. Once a child gets older they use the term 'dad'; an abbreviated version. In much more formal situations, such as a wedding or social gathering, you will introduce your male parent as 'father'. When you are referring to a spouses dad, the term is always 'father-in-law'. We would not use 'dad-in-law.'

The most formal way of saying "dad" is father. Father is seen as the more respectful way of greeting and acknowledging one's dad. The term "father" is the title given to the paternal parent of a child. Example: My father always spent time with me playing outside when I was a child.

The most commonly formal way of saying "dad" is definitely "father". Depending on how you will be using this in a sentence, you could also use "ancestor" or "male parent".

The formal way term "father " is the same as the its informal alternatives "dad/daddy". You may use the word "father" in a sentence in the following ways: -I love my father very much and I want to buy him a new car for his birthday. -My father is my role model because he works very hard to provide for his family. I would like to be that kind of father to my kids.

We would use the word, "father," as the official and more formal title for this position within a family. "Dad," would be the less formal style of this word. Example sentences : - My father is the owner of a very big company. - I work in my father's company.
