発揮するって英語でなんて言うの？

最初の例は「出す」の意味での発揮になりますね。例文としては「Bring out the full potential」（本気/本当の実力を出す）

残り二つの例は発揮して「見せる」の意味になります。「本気を（発揮して）見せる」等と言う例なら「Display the full potential」や「He showed his true potential」（彼は本当の実力を見せた）等となります。

例：
This experience will help him bring out his full potential.
この経験は彼の本当の実力を引き出す助けになります。

「発揮」は英語で show 又は display と言います。

例えば「自分の能力を発揮できる仕事」は a job where I can show/display my skills になります。

もちろん show でも display でも大丈夫ですが、私でしたら display の方を使います。何故かと言いますと display はもうちょっと「意識しながら見せる」ようなニュアンスがあります。

「発揮する」の使い方は幅広いですがkeitoさんが取り上げた文脈で「発揮する」は英語で言うと「to do excellently」或いは「to perform excellently」だと思います。

例文1：
I think that there are those who do excellently and those who don't do so on the actual day.
本番で力を発揮する人としない人がいると思います。

例文2：
I think that there are those who perform excellently and those who don't do so on the actual day.
例文1と同じ意味です。

「rise to the occasion」と「rise to the challenge」はかつて力を発揮できないことがあったまたは今まで発揮する機会がなかったのですが今回は力を発揮できたという意味です。

Although he had never taken part in the Olympics before, he rose to the occasion (またはrose to the challenge) and completed Olympic race.
オリンピックに出たことなかったのですが力を発揮してオリンピックのレースを完走できました。
