~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are there any other ways to say this?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
これだけでいけます!
直訳すると、「他に言い回しはありますか?」
とても便利なのでマスターしておくと、良いことはあります。
また、この場合、「英文」と言及する必要は特にありません。
冒険心のある方は、ついでに以下のバリエーションも試してみてください。
↓↓↓
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What are some other ways to phrase this?(「他の言い回しを教えてもらえますか?」)
Are there other similar expressions?(「似たような表現は他にありますか?」)
Can you teach me some variations on this phrase?(「このフレーズのバリエーション、もしあれば教えてください。」)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
are there other ways to communicate that same feeling?
If there's another way to say that, could you please tell me?
is there another way to say that?
You can also say "are there other ways to communicate that same feeling?" - this may sound more wordy and polite but you can use it if you want to sound more intelligent.
Other wise you can use "If there's another way to say that, could you please tell me?" or more casually "is there another way to say something like that?"
For example:
Nick: Hey Dilland, I feel pretty tired but I don't want to sound rude in front of my girlfriend's parents. Is there another to say that?
Dilland: Oh you mean like a synonym?
Nick: Exactly!
Dilland: Well you could say "I feel exhausted"
Nick: Ok, I'll try that. Thanks Dilland!
"are there other ways to communicate that same feeling?"
(同じ感情を伝える他の言い方はありますか?)
と言うこともできます。
これはより言葉を使い、
丁寧に聞こえるかもしれませんが、よりかしこく見せたい場合にも使う事ができます。
他にも"If there's another way to say that, could you please tell me?"
(それを言う別の言い方があれば、教えてれませんか?)
もしくはもっとカジュアルに
"is there another way to say something like that?"
(そんな風に言う別の言い方はありますか?)
という風なフレーズも使える事ができます。
例えば:
ニック:Hey Dilland, I feel pretty tired but I don't want to sound rude in front of my girlfriend's parents.
Is there another to say that?
(ねぇディランド、私はかなり疲れている気がするんだけど、ガールフレンドの両親の前で失礼な言い方をしたくないんだ。
他の言い方ってある?)
ディランド:Oh you mean like a synonym?
(ああ、同義語ってこと?)
ニック:Exactly!
(その通り!)
ディランド:Well you could say "I feel exhausted"
(まあ、"exhausted"と言えるんじゃない)
ニック: Ok, I'll try that. Thanks Dilland!
(わかった!使ってみる!ありがとう、ディランド!)
In English, there normally are, more than one way to say or ask something. Below are some examples:
"Where are my shoes?"
"Do you know where my shoes are?"
"Have you seen my shoes?"
"I arrived too late, to see the movie!"
"I was not on time to watch the movie!"
"I was not early enough to see the movie!"
英語には通常複数の表現があります。以下はいくつかの例です:
"Where are my shoes?"(私の靴はどこ?)
"Do you know where my shoes are?"(私の靴がどこか知ってる?)
"Have you seen my shoes?"(私の靴を見なかった?)
"I arrived too late, to see the movie!"(映画を観るのに遅れた!)
"I was not on time to watch the movie!"(映画を観る時間に間に合わなかった!)
"I was not early enough to see the movie!"(映画を観るのに遅れた!)
Are there any other phrases with the same meaning?
Are there any other expressions that have the same meaning?
Is there a different way to say this?
The most direct way to ask would be like the other anchors have stated and just ask, "Are there any other ways to say this?" but you can also try one of these phrases.
The first two phrases are very similar and it's very clear that you want to know other expressions or phrases that convey the same meaning. The third one is similar to the other anchor's suggestion, except instead of saying "other" in "Are there any other ways to say this?", you can substitute it with "different" so it becomes "Is there a different way to say this?"
最も直接的に聞く方法は、他のアンカーが述べているように、
"Are there any other ways to say this?"
(これと同じことを言う他の言い方はありますか?)
と尋ねるだけですが、
これらのフレーズの1つを試して使うこともできます。
最初の2つのフレーズはとてもによく似ていて、
同じ意味を伝える他の表現やフレーズを知りたいということは明らかにわかります。
他のアンカーの提案と似ていますが、
"Are there any other ways to say this?"
(これを言う事ができる他の言い方はありますか?)の"other"(他の)を代わりに、
"different"(異なる)と置き換え、
"Is there a different way to say this?"
(これと同じ意味で違う言い方はありますか?)
という風にいう事もできます。
In all three sentences, the student is asking the teach to find another way to express the original phrase differently.
For the original phrase to be different, the teacher would then, perhaps, use synonyms or simpler words than what was originally used.
1. Is there an alternative phrase that means the same thing?
2. Is there another way of saying that?
1. Alternative phrase that means the same = a different group of words which has an identical meaning.
"Is there an alternative phrase that means the same as, to get the sack?"
"Yes there is: to be fired.".
2. "Is there another way of saying: fools rush in where angels fear to tread?
"Probably, but I can't think of one at the moment/"
1.Alternative phrase that means the same =同じ意味を表す様々なフレーズを表します。
例
"Is there an alternative phrase that means the same as, to get the sack?"
クビになることの違う言い方ってありますか?
"Yes there is: to be fired.".
はい、to be firedがそれですね。
2. "Is there another way of saying: fools rush in where angels fear to tread?
天使が踏み込むのを恐れる場所へ愚者は飛び込む、という言葉の違う言い方はありますか?
"Probably, but I can't think of one at the moment/"
あるだろうけど、今は思い出せないな。
questions asking a teacher / tutor if there are other ways of saying a particular word / phrase, often in the English language we are able to express ourselves in many different ways with having the same outcome / meaning.
ex. "I am so tired today" "I am so sleepy today"
To be tired is the same as to be sleepy.
これらの質問では、ある語句について、先生に「別の言い方はありますか」と尋ねています。
英語ではしばしば、一つのことを複数の言い方で表すことができます。
例:
"I am so tired today"(今日はすごく眠いです)
"I am so sleepy today"(今日はすごく眠いです)
'To be tired' と 'To be sleepy'(眠い)は同じ意味です。
