I would like you to reduce the volume of my hair, but keep the length the same.
Please thin out my hair, but keep the length the same.

Please thin out my hair all over, but keep the length the same.

Could you thin out top/(both) sides/back a bit?
Try and go for it!

A haircut can go well.... or??
We get so used to our "image" , we can hardly bear to change it drastically!
Sometimes we might find the style we have is looking great; except perhaps
our hair has gotten" too heavy" or become too "thick" ;-)
In this case we can ask for trimming and thinning...
(using thinning scissors with only cute some hairs but not all)
Can you reduce the volume but keep the length please?
Can you thin it out please but maintain the length?
In order to ask a barber to reduce the volume of your hair but keep the length, you can say:
Can you reduce the volume but keep the length please?
Another way of asking is to say:
Can you thin it out please but maintain the length?
'To thin out' is to reduce the volume.
'maintain the length' - To keep the length the same.
I hope that helps!

Can you thin it out please but maintain the length?

>I only want the hair volume to be less. Do not cut the length.
>Can you use a thinning scissors to thin out my hair. I do not want to cut the length.
Both sentences are clearly indicating that you only want the volume to be less and that the hair length to be the same. The other person should clearly understand you when you use any of the two sentences.
I only want the hair volume to be less. Do not cut the length.
Can you use a thinning scissors to thin out my hair. I do not want to cut the length.
Could you keep the same length but give it a general trim please?
I'd like to keep the same length but have it thinned out a little please
Please keep the same length but layer the rest of the hair
It is a slight contradiction in terms to ask a barber to cut your hair without shortening it, as cutting involves shortening part of the hair, however that is what many people request. It is a very frequent request in a barbers for a customer to ask for 'a trim.' A trim means that the basic style of the haircut will remain but that the overall effect will be shorter. If length of hair is important for you, then you may specify that you wish the length to remain the same but have the hair thinned or layered.
thin it out - this means to reduce the volume. When your hair is thinning out, it means it's falling out and balding.
to cut off hair - this means to remove hair to shorten the length
"thin it out"(すいてください)
"to cut off hair"(髪を切る)
