You are planning to go to Canada in May. You can explain it by using one of the above suggestions. It depends, as in every case, on the context of your statement. Usually, if you are planning to go somewhere - then you are going! The only reason there would be any doubt would be if some external factor influenced you plan - or arrangement. That may affect the certainty of the trip going ahead, so some doubt may be inferred as in the third example.
「5月にカナダに行く予定」ということなら、それは上記の例文の一つを使って説明できます。

To 'Visit' is an expression used when arriving or en route to a destination.

The two sentences you see provided above are great ways to express to your listener that you will be in Canada in May. In the first sentence you will see the word visit and in the second sentence you will see the word travel. Both of these words mean to go to a place. These words are commonly used when we are talking about going to certain area. They would make great additions to your vocabulary.
