「寝坊した」= I overslept / I slept in / I slept through my alarm / I didn't wake up on time
様々な言い方がありますね^^ 「[わざと](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/46215/)ゆっくり寝坊する事」はイギリス英語で「to have a lie-in」という言い方になります。しかし、「起きたかったけど寝坊しちゃった」というニュアンスである場合には上記に紹介したフレーズを使います。
例:
I overslept. I don't think I'm going to make it on time.
寝坊した。[間に合わない](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/1173/)と思う。
Both of these answers are perfectly good for telling someone that you overslept or slept for too long in the morning.
If you planned to sleep longer than usual, for example on a Saturday or Sunday morning this would be called a 'lie in'.
To sleep longer than you planned to is called over sleeping.
In the past tense, you can say overslept.
If you did not hear your alarm clock or did not wake up when your alarm goes off, you can say, "I slept through my alarm".
You can also say, "I didn't get up in time", that is, the time you intended to wake up.
寝過ごすことは「oversleeping」といいます。過去形だと「overslept」になります。
目覚まし時計に気づかなかったり、目覚まし時計が鳴ったのに起きられなかった場合は、「I slept through my alarm(目覚ましに気づかなかった)」と言えます。
また「I didn't get up in time(寝過ごしました)」と言うこともできます。起きるつもりだった時間に起きられなかったことを表します。
If you oversleep you can say
I overslept
I slept in
I slept late
I was late getting up
I was late waking up
I woke up late
寝過ごしたときは、以下のように言えます:
I overslept(寝過ごしました)
I slept in(ゆっくり寝ました)
I slept late(遅くまで寝ました)
I was late getting up(起きるのが遅かったです)
I was late waking up(起きるのが遅かったです)
I woke up late(寝過ごしました)
To sleep in or have slept in is another way to say you overslept or you didn't get up when your were supposed to. You could also say i didn't get up in time a good example would be
"i didn't get up in time as my alarm didn't go off " this explains what happened and why
"To sleep in"(寝坊する)または"have slept in"(寝坊した)は、"overslept"(寝坊した)または、"didn't get up on time"(時間に起きられなかった=寝坊した)の別の言い方です。
●I didn't get up in time as my alarm didn't go off.
(目覚まし時計が鳴らなかったので、寝坊してしまった。)
The two sentences you see above are great ways to express that you overslept. In the second sentence you will see the word snooze button. The snooze button is a button we press that lets us sleep five or ten minutes longer after our alarm goes off. I hope these two sentences and this explanation help you out!
When you sleep past the time you are supposed to be up, then you can use the following expressions:
-I overslept
-I did not wake up when I was supposed to
If you want to explain further, then you can say something like:
-I overslept because I kept snoozing my alarm
-I overslept because I did not hear/set my alarm
起きなければいけない時間を過ぎて寝てしまった時は、次の表現が使えます:
【例文】
-I overslept
(寝坊した)
-I did not wake up when I was supposed to
(寝坊しました)
もう少し詳しく説明したい場合は、次のように言うことが出来ます:
【例文】
-I overslept because I kept snoozing my alarm
(目覚まし時計のスヌーズを押し続けて寝坊しました)
-I overslept because I did not hear/set my alarm
(目覚ましの音が聞こえなくて/目覚ましをセットし忘れて、寝坊しました)
「寝坊した」という言葉を英語で表すと、「slept in late」という表現も「overslept」という表現も使っても良いと考えました。「Slept」は「sleep」という言葉の過去形です。「寝る」という意味があります。例えば、「I slept in late and now I’m late.」と「I overslept and now I’m late.」と言っても良いです。「Late」は「遅れる」という意味があります。
2つのメインのフレーズは”slept in”と“overslept”です。
寝坊した
I overslept
I slept in
寝坊したから遅刻しちゃった
I was late because I overslept
I was late because I slept in
いつも寝坊するからアラームの音はすごい大きい
I always oversleep so my alarm is super loud
I think I overslept. I'm going to be in big trouble.
I overslept and missed school today. Now I have to write a report.
I overslept again? Why do I keep doing this? I'm going to be late arriving at work.
寝坊した overslept
寝坊したと思います。 私は大問題になるでしょう。
I think I overslept. I'm going to be in big trouble.
今日は寝坊して学校を休みました。 今、私はレポートを書かなければなりません。
I overslept and missed school today. Now I have to write a report.
もう一度寝坊した? なぜこれを続けているのですか? 私は仕事に遅れるつもりです。
I overslept again? Why do I keep doing this? I'm going to be late arriving at work.
I meant to wake up at 6am - but I didn't hear the alarm
My alarm didn't wake me this morning
Well, if you wanted to wake up at 6 am, for example, and you actually woke up at 7 am, then you have overslept. The prefix 'over' means something like 'too much'. So if you 'over-eat', for example, it means you have eaten too much. If you 'over-work' it means you have worked too much.
A native speaker may use the verb 'to oversleep', but probably they would blame their alarm, or possibly some other factor - as in the third example above! Another example:
'I should have woken up at 6 am but I was over-tired.' Here the speaker is saying the reason they did not wake in time was because they were exhausted.
I overslept. - 寝坊した。
シンプルですが、一番使われると思われる英語フレーズです。
oversleep で「寝坊する」なので、過去形の overslept で「寝坊した」となります。
例:
I was late because I overslept. Sorry.
寝坊したから遅れた。ごめんね。
