大切って英語でなんて言うの？

「大切」は英語で「important」と言いますが、「precious」、「special」などの形容詞も使えます。そして、「treasure something」、「take care of something」という表現も使えます。

This is something very important to me. / This is something very special to me.
（これは私にとって大切なものです。）

Please take care of this.
（これを大切にしてください。）

My most precious things are my children.
（私の最も大切な物は自分の子供たちです。）

日本語の「大切」をそのまま英語に訳すと「important」などになります。
「important」は「重要な、大事な、大切な」という意味の形容詞です。

文中にある「大切」はいろいろな言葉で表されます。

〔例〕

I'll treasure it.
→大切にします。

My family is everything to me.
→家族は私のすべてです。

Football is everything to me.
→フットボールは私のすべてです。

Music is everything to me.
→音楽は私のすべてです。

“This means there world to me”は一番気持ちいが強い英文です。一番大切なものの意味です。

人が大切でも同じフレーズになる。
彼女は私にとって大切な人です
She is important to me
She means a lot to me

これは文脈によって変わりますね。

一つの言い方は important です。

例えば「これは私にとって大切です」と言いたいなら This is very important to me と言えます。Important は「重要」という意味です。

もう一つの言い方は dear です。例えば This is very dear to me と言えます。Dear は「心に近い」というニュアンスがあります。

また、「大切にする」は I'll cherish it と言います。Cherish は「大事にする」という意味です。

These phrases are used to describe something that is important to you, this can be something that has been handed down from generation to generation or even something that you really like and have bought recently.
for example "This necklace has a lot of sentimental value to me as it was handed down from my great, great grandmother".

If something, or someone, is very important and special to you, then you can say one of two of these sentences.

everything, precious, special, mean a lot などを使うといい表現ができます。「大切にする、大事にする」は cherish, treasure と言います。

これは私にとって大切なものです。大事にします。
My pets are everything to me.
ペットは私のすべて（大切なもの）です。
Oh, thank you so much! I’ll take good care of it!
まあ、ありがとう！ずっと大切にします。
It was a precious time for us.

1) 日本語の「これは私にとって大切なもの」に当たります。

2)よく使われる言い方。This代わりにyouを入れたら
「あなたが私にとって大事な人」になります。例文を挙げると、

"This exam is really important for me."
(この試験は私にとってとても大切です）

"You have remembered my birthday and prepared this gift for me! You know, this means a lot to me."
（誕生日を覚えてプレゼントまで用意してくれたことが私にとて大切なこと。）

「大切な」という時の一番代表的な表現は、importantという形容詞です。

また、「大切にする」という時は、cherishやtake good care ofなどの動詞を使います(^_^)
